Trade-in should be considered as cash. What Samsung does is treated trade-in value as a coupon and use it first before other discount. A trade-in value of $300 on Samsung's website equals to $225 at best-buy.
I traded in a Samsung Note8 for $300 credit. At Best Buy, this phone would get me $25.
I traded in a Samsung A32 5G for $200 credit. Worth nothing elsewhere.
The overall deal, for Phone plus Watch6 and/or Ear Buds is pretty good.
If you buy the S23 Ultra, you get the Watch6 for $99. If you don't want the watch, you can sell it and likely make money. (I don't sell stuff online, so I could be wrong)
