It appears Dell totally took away support for a SATA 2.5" drive. I see no SATA/HD connector on the motherboard. It's as if that 2.5" space is solely for the 4-cell 54Wh battery upgrade now.
If there is no SATA port, how to add storage. The only way is to replace SSD, right?

Your motherboard does have the "HDD" port which allows a SATA drive, but Dell did not install a connector, just the bare solder points.
Appears to make that port functional, a connector would have to be soldered on. Quite a disappointment.

Only problem I faced is the screws in the back at the hinges never came out and I had to just pull the cover and replace RAM. Maybe that's how it's designed.
Next step is to fresh install Windows 11 after creating a installation media from Microsoft site.
