You should be able to open a Meta account (that's the preferred path for many, not tying your Facebook account to it), and buy games without a Quest bound to your account. Then, when you activate the unit on that Meta account, you should be good to go. I owned a bunch of freebie Quest games that were promos posted here, knowing I might get a unit eventually, and it worked fine.

FWIW I created an account and purchased the game. The Quest seems to support family account game sharing as well so as long as I set up my account as the "main" account on the device, the kids can log in with their accounts and play as well.

They were owned by facebook/meta even when the rift came out. I had a rift, got a quest 1 and now I got a quest 3. Worth every penny as the tech is amazing. When quests came out I already own tons of games by virtue of using the same account I had on my rift plus with virtual desktop I can play them on my pc if I want graphical upgrade. Let that be a lesson to us all. Take a screen shot as much as you can when purchasing. Happened to me in the past when their customer service asked me to provide a screen shot of my transaction. :sigh:

I bought Beat Saber games 1-at-a-time last year at 99 cents each. After 15 or so purchases, META put a hold on my purchasing! Had to wait like an hour to continue, and the sale was about to expire at that point. :|
Oh, and I was using a GC for that, so no CC fraud alert.

Whoa, just verified Target.com still sells Meta gift cards so you can get them 5% off with Red Card.
Turns out, they're currently already 10% off at the moment!

BTW, went through Meta's checkout process for a Q3 headset, and there's not a spot for a Meta GC as method of payment for that hardware.

Whoa great tip! Too bad I already bought half the games I was looking for last night! I suppose I could try to refund them and rebuy but not sure it's worth the hassle (especially due to having to do everything individually!).

I wish the same. Songs are wayy to expensive. I bought few packs and they really put a smile on my face but I would love to see more easy going songs at affordable prices. Game is worth every penny.
