Not sure on your situation but I would suggest the capacitor version over the battery type.
The main problem with most dashcams is that you don't get parked protection unless you buy additional cables and gmhard wire which requires access to fuse panel and to know which fuses are switched which ones are not. Most new car brands may not have switched up fronts so if you wire to constant always on, then you also need low voltage cut off and the list goes on and on.They need to make better packages with these features built in.
