Check with your local Library or their website, they typically carry a shared subscription account with CR which you can use by signing up with library card, or library will provide you with the login details.

Is consumerreportsmagazine.org legit?
Yes. https://subs.consumerreportsmagazine.org/ hosts the subscription services for CR.

I second that. After I got to knew few years back, never bought the subscription. I guess don't use it that often unless buying a new appliance.

12 dollars a year seems worth it, although you can get it through most libraries online and in person.

It's gone downhill, and I rate it about like wire cutter.

Lot of YouTube hacks and shills, but people like project farm are better. Or the super specialists like vacuum wars.

Youtube is full of paid shills for the most part it seems, I find Reddit to be a little less suspect but you have to dig for the info. CR is at least scientific in their research with a vast archive
Counterpoint: I think they rated "Red Baron" pizza the best in class

Someone please create a service that watches and summarizes YouTube and reddit reviews with a GPT, paying those platforms royalties for their content, and charge me like $35/year for the privilege.

Well, when the "class" is cheap mass produced frozen pizza, the bar is not set too high.

But yes, I've never appreciated their rankings of food, especially when they use so called taste experts -- taste is so individualized.

Amazon Reviews, even with the fake and paid ones is as good for me. You Tube (previous comment) is still my go to before using the Amazon Reviews. Most Sder's should be experienced enough to figure out good reviews and videos.

Just found out recently that our library has a digital consumer report for free

You can typically get free access through your library, I don't think I'd pay for this.

Thanks for the tip to check the library! Confirmed it provides Consumer Reports.
Found out it also provides NYTimes.

Does this include the digital? It is cheaper than last week's DiscountMags.
