This faster as a boot drive compared to Intel Optane P1600x?

What about if it were paired in RAID 1?

You know it's not really a deal when it's the same price at several retailers.

Listen folks, this thing was $99.99 just a couple weeks ago on Amazon, I know cause I bought one! Paying more for the same thing is NOT a good deal.

Gonna hold off for the possible return of that $99 price point. We aren't to Black Friday yet!

How well does this drive hold up compared to the 980 Pro?

There's an official "Black Friday Deal" tag/label for this item on Amazon, so yes, I'm disappointed like everyone else that this is what they're calling a BF deal. Hopefully one of the other sellers will breakdown and offer $99 on Friday or CM and Amazon will follow suit. My hope is that since the 1tb version isn't on sale, that will be a flash sale or CM sale for $50.

I'm from the future, and Black Friday will eventually become a dark day indeed... "Black Friday deals" will be nothing more than deceiving little labels applied to newly raised prices...

The future sucks!

This was $100 few days ago. I waited thinking it will come down on black Friday or at least be available on black Friday. But no. What a scam. $120 isn't a black Friday deal

Prices go up during BF for a lot of items that are not low end/low demand because BF/CM is a gimmick that attracts shoppers who believe they're getting deals when they really aren't. This has been the case for a couple of decades, and most savvy bargain hunters know the best sales are non-publicized non event sales, usually near the first 3-4 months of the year when old inventory needs to be cleared out.

You might get a slightly cheaper Sorny or Magnet Box set, but real brands and premium merch will barely budge. This drive is a perfect example of this kind of economics. It's "perception of value".
