Home Depot has the Milwaukee M18 Fuel 18v Brushless Jigsaw (tool only) for $99 after hack. Add the M18 18-volt lithium ion XC starter kit with 2 5.0Ah batteries and charger for $199.99 and the jigsaw becomes free. Return the batteries and charger for a $100 refund bringing the jigsaw total paid down to $99.

It would have to show on the receipt as two separate items.
That bundle is one item that comes with the batteries. A bundle.
Here is the SKU from the link you posted. 1010137645

But as for the link, do you understand what I'm trying to explain?

I tried to return the battery and keep the jig saw, but the person on the service desk could not help. She was very willing to try, and even showed me the screen where she attempted to do the partial refund to prove that there was only a single item shown (i.e. Jig saw and battery) with no price breakdown.
I'm not disbelieving the OP's own experience, and maybe there was some trick I could or should have done when placing my order. But it would be helpful if "hackable" deals at HD posted here always included a copy of their receipt to show that their deal truly is hackable, and give details of exactly the steps they followed to get a partial refund. And if you didn't actually obtain a partial refund, make that clear in the post.
The bottom line is that "hackable" Home Depot deals are not always guaranteed to succeed.

The verbiage in the OP is correct, and the link provided does show the jig saw that you get. So they are posting the truth, but it's not the whole truth. As you pointed out, they really need to be posting the link that allows someone to buy the batteries and charger in order to obtain the jig saw as a separate item, and leaving that link out is very highly misleading.
And of course, it they had shown their receipt it would have proved that they did not actually buy the item with the SKU shown in their link at all.
