You can do so much more on a griddle then you can on a propane based grill. If you're not using real charcoal, what's the point of a propane grill? You're just not getting that "real" grill flavor. Perhaps you disagree. A griddle can do so much more.

If it works for you for bacon, ok cool I can't argue with that. I think you can easily cook pork/turkey/etc bacon in a smaller oven here (gourmia comes to mind) on the air fryer plate which sheds the fat for much less $ spent in energy. I'd never fire up a propane based griddle just for bacon, I mean it really does seem like such a waste of energy and your hard earned $.

That's BS, I spoke with multiple blackstone reps.. they will phase out the old plate for the omnivore plates only. This has been confirmed by multiple sources.

Those Omnivore tops really are the next best thing! They have a patented welding system underneath to prevent warping and have built-in windshields, as well as pockets to allow for the heat to be distributed more evenly and efficiently on the unit. They don't need as much propane to reach the same high temperatures as our original griddle plates, which is why they have a lower BTU!

We don't have much on our website at the moment because the models we currently sell online with the Omnivore griddle plates are out of stock. We are working to get them back in stock as soon as possible, and when they arrive, we will have much more explaining the griddle plate across the site! For now, our retailers have the griddle tops and we get to wait.

Our original griddle tops are still a high-quality product, so regardless of which Blackstone you buy, you'll have a great experience! We are just working to slowly introduce more of the Omnivore griddle plates over the next few months, and hope to see them on many more models soon!"
