Some states charge tax on streaming services, so if you're setting up a virtual credit card number, take that into account when setting the daily spend limit for it.

data point - i can confirm that this works with the amex platinum $20/month ($240/yr) entertainment credit benefit. i paid 19.99 for the yearly plan on 11/22 and got 19.99 credit on 11/23

I was a platinum member, but moved to a new house and started flex as a new customer, but didn't get peacock free because I am not in the premium tiers of service length
I find the ad breaks very short compared to cable viewing also. Let's say a bravo show runs an hour on cable - that's 40 minutes of show plus 20 minutes of commercials, Peacock only shows about 4 minutes of ads

What do they really offer content-wise?
The regular programming is IMHO not worth even $20, especially w/ ads. The movies are mostly b-list titles and they have no watchable original shows. The only redeeming value would be if you have never watched Yellowstone and want to binge it.

Edit:
I was very tempted to get the premium Plus for $80 total. And then get $24 Sam's club cash back from that. Putting the out the door price to $56 for premium Plus, plus tax.
It would have been nothing to pay the extra $42 to get the ad-free plan, but I primarily watch peacock for the movies anyway that have the ads in the beginning and not in the movie.
Peacock is really only worth one to $2 per month anyway. Peacock Black Friday deal from last year expired on the 20th so I'm good to go for another year

Also, the "cable" model never went away, it was just delivered in a different manner. Live streaming is no different than cable except it comes via Internet rather than a cable box or dish. There has yet to be a live streaming provider that let anyone select the exact channels they wanted. And all of these basic channels always had ads, always will, and never had an ad-free tier.
