Got a year subscription and cancelled right away. Still have it for the year but don't need to remember to cancel.

this is only for platinum or diamond members, which I believe means you have been a customer for at least 8 years

I was a platinum member, but moved to a new house and started flex as a new customer, but didn't get peacock free because I am not in the premium tiers of service length

Peacock Premium is great imo. Movies usually let you watch a 5 minute block of ads before viewing uninterrupted

I find the ad breaks very short compared to cable viewing also. Let's say a bravo show runs an hour on cable - that's 40 minutes of show plus 20 minutes of commercials, Peacock only shows about 4 minutes of ads

If youre an Xfiniy internet subscriber, get yourself a free Flex box and you get Peacock Premium for free...not only on that device, but on any device that you log into Peacock Premium. I dont even us the Flex box now, just installed the app on two TVs and free access.
This is not accurate, don't even get ad supported for free

Got it for $14 after the Amex offer. I only use peacock to watch the premier league, so this is a good price to cover me for a whole year.

I've done a quick scan thru their app. It just seems like they are churning old broadcast content, office, housewives, last months football games.

What do they really offer content-wise?
Aside from some live sports this is true. Peacock, as in 2022, will have a lot of live Olympic events vs pre-recorded on the evening NBC program. Also you'll be able to watch on-demand and FF boring parts on Peacock. So that is worth $20 to me.

The regular programming is IMHO not worth even $20, especially w/ ads. The movies are mostly b-list titles and they have no watchable original shows. The only redeeming value would be if you have never watched Yellowstone and want to binge it.

So you paid $20 for the full year and Amex says you're getting $6 back?
This worked for me too. Great deal for 1 year subscription.

Thanks OP. In for 14 bucks annual after my Sam's club 30% discount.

Edit:
I was very tempted to get the premium Plus for $80 total. And then get $24 Sam's club cash back from that. Putting the out the door price to $56 for premium Plus, plus tax.

It would have been nothing to pay the extra $42 to get the ad-free plan, but I primarily watch peacock for the movies anyway that have the ads in the beginning and not in the movie.

Peacock is really only worth one to $2 per month anyway. Peacock Black Friday deal from last year expired on the 20th so I'm good to go for another year

Any idea on when this expires? My $1/month deal expires on Monday so that would be a perfect time to renew.

All these streaming services that are ad supported. What's the point? People might as well go back to cable. Only a matter of time before someone consolidates them all and then it is basically cable again.
The point is a lower price point for people who can't or won't afford the more expensive no-ads tier. None of these streaming channels force people into the ad supported version. No one likes ads but content is expensive, esp. original programming. Servers are expensive. IT staffs are expensive. So we have choices -- pay with ads or pay with dollars or don't subscribe at all.

Also, the "cable" model never went away, it was just delivered in a different manner. Live streaming is no different than cable except it comes via Internet rather than a cable box or dish. There has yet to be a live streaming provider that let anyone select the exact channels they wanted. And all of these basic channels always had ads, always will, and never had an ad-free tier.

The SamsClub 30% off worked for me. (Thanks to the poster who first mentioned it) But the 20% extra for Sams Plus members is really 6% (20% of 30% = 6%) If you purchase the Annual Ad-Free Peacock plan for $120 (plus tax) a Sams Plus Member gets 36% back... or $43.20 (I assume a regular member will get $36 back). A plus Member then, ends up paying about $77 for a year (plus tax) or roughly $6.50/month for a year of ad-free. (Taxes make it all slightly different) Of course, the normal caveats apply... you have to link your card (easy to do at the Sams website) and read the terms and take your chances. Sams sent a text within a minute or so telling me I earned to "sams cash".. Also, it appears that it only works for one purchase, so if you go monthly, the cash back is significantly less.

I'm not able to add ad free annual after subscribing. I just see it as a $6 a month add on.
Any luck? I seem to have the same problem.

Technically it's a Black Friday deal so whether that includes Cyber Monday is unknown. I haven't seen any specific offer period mentioned. If I were you I'd just re-up now with a different email if you want to guarantee getting in on the deal.

Is this one of those low quality "premium" services that has ads? Last time I tried Peacock it was like 480p.

I know this is probably a dumb question but can I cancel my current subscription and then purchase this as a "lapsed account"?

Not for everyone. But I personally watch a lot of soccer and Peacock has exclusive streaming rights to a bunch of leagues. So yeah, totally worth the $2/yr 🤷🏻 ♂️ and no, they don't show ads in the middle of the matches like every US American sports
