Not as terrible as it sounds. I have both the solar built-in cameras as well as "c" cameras with external solar panels that can be bought for about $10 a piece on Amazon. The external panels do a much better job of keeping cameras charged; I think because you can locate them a few feet away where sunlight may be more accessible.
