Doubtful, the holes are rather large. Just go to Dollar Tree and get one for $1.25. It even has a handle.

I've had mine for a long time. They have handles and do a great job as splatter guards. I would not want to use them for this purpose without handles especially with non-stick cookware -- and for safety. As somebody mentioned below, they're only $1.25 at the Dollar Store.
