It's been around this price off and on for the holidays and it's still a great deal. The version with brown switches is the same price if you prefer those. I picked up a brown switch used acceptable for $20 and it's a ridiculousness good quality board for that price. Very solid/heavy feeling. Very quiet to type on with the gasket and foam layers. Getting VIA working did take a little bit of playing with. Their instructions don't mention it but I had to download the json keyboard definition file and upload it in VIA before it would recognize the keyboard. Not sure if that is a temporary thing or why they don't mention it but I had to do it on two different computers. I haven't really done much with VIA yet but it does have some very interesting looking features.

Edit only thing it doesn't have going for it is not hot swappable.

I agree, the overall feel and the 'Thock' sound beats $50+ mechanical keyboards. I don't need to put in a padded membrane into it. Have two browns now.

GMMK has a more premium build but the key taps sound worse without modifications. I have one too (with orange 'ASCEND') escape key but considering a return.

Oh really? I have that one (white compact) and i love it. The typing experience is incredible, I just wish it had arrow keys.

I purchased the brown key version of the keyboard a month ago and I love it. The only suggestion is to update the firmware as mine had some issues with multimedia keys
Otherwise an awesome mechanical keyboard

Help me out. I realize the color switches probably give the answer, but which keyboard would be the quietest? My teenage son wants a very quiet gaming keyboard for the holidays and I'm not sure how to tell which to get… Thx

There are silent switches that can be easily installed on a hot swap keyboard that make almost no noise at all.

I had just gotten some like that, they were not my favorite switches for feel as its a bit spongy but if I was still doing live streaming and stuff like I used too when I was younger that would be my choice as to not make any noise during the stream.

For gamign in general I recommend linear switches, and they can lend themslelves to also being the quietest.

For more money than this if your willing, get the Keychron K8 Pro also on sale.
Its much nicer and has dampening material inside to reduce the noise.

The Gateron Red Pro switches it comes with are fantastic.
