This product exists to sell their custom size trash bags

58 liters = 15 gallon

15 gallon / 2 bins = 7.5 gallons

Standard garbage bag size is 13 gallon. Costco sells their 200ct bags for 10 cents each and simplehuman h bags cost 33 cents each, and you need 2 so you're paying 6x the cost for trash bags.

Saw this today in store. Wife's mom has one - both sides are too small to be really effective at either trash or recycling, IMO.

Be prepared to empty the trash daily, possibly twice in a day if you're cooking.

Good to know, but obviously apples and oranges. Anyone looking at this presumably really wants the separate trash and recycle bins.

Wow, I'm tempted to just order online for $99.99. We have one. Don't be fooled into thinking $120 is the regular price. It pained me to spend $200, but was worth it.

Their customer service is fantastic. I bought a voice activated one a couple of years back. The lid started to open half way a few times so I contacted them and they shipped out a brand new one for free, no questions asked. Just told me to donate the old one. Would recommend.

I saw this Simple Human bin and Kohler in store. The quality of Kohler is very good compared to this, just fyi. Only drawback with Kohler is single compartment. Price is ~$5 difference.

The 200 dollar version which I bought from Bloomingdales has a lid that is matching chrome color. This one has a gray top.

Have had this for years the lid likes to shut easily when changing bags and the compartments are a bit small for bulky items

While I like the idea and look of a metal trash can, once it gets dented I get very annoyed with it and feel like it is defective.

End up being happier with plastic trash cans.

Yeah we were originally thinking about getting this can but then realized that the trash section cant even fit a takeout container because its a deep but narrow square, so we opted for a 55L single compartment simplehuman can instead. Best decision we made. Love the big opening!

Simple human makes good stuff. I only buy them now. They can take a beating… unlike most mechanical or electronic trash cans.

Bathroom one I've had for 7 years or so and kitchen 3. Both have zero issues.

Filling a bag once a day is impressive for a household. That's far from normal, however. We like to cook and rarely fill a bag a week (per side).
