I had installed this and it would never actually load. Tried a few things and nothing worked. I realized I haven't finished D3 and never owned D2, which is on sale for a lot less…Immortal is F2P. I guess if I ever buy, it will be from Blizzard.

Weird. I've not paid for the game. Only played the two free trials on Battle.net and now on steam this week, and worked without a hitch in both cases.

Lucky! I wish! I had played the beta at my brother's on his Xbox, but it clearly wasn't finished. It isn't my favorite genre, but is nice to play from time to time.

it is a trial, not free of all content, level is capped at 20 for a given character, then disconnect and prompt you to buy the game.

This game WAS fun until they released a huge patch and broke classes. They managed to break a class MORE than before the patch.
It's like the team is full of idiots who have never played a Blizzard series. I uninstalled after the patch that broke everything. No desire to come back even if they try to equalize the damage. The golden years of a game having "Blizzard" on it are long gone.

I loved Diablo and D2 back in the day. Downloaded this trial and could not get into it, this type of gameplay is just tedious now.

Do yourself a favor and just play Diablo II Resurrected. Awesome game play, unmatched itemization, and upgraded graphics make it look modern (not top tier but doesn't look dated). There is a reason it still has a dedicated fanbase.
