The Dell and HP include a 12th generation i3 which is way superior to this N version of the i3. Basically, this is almost a low end pentium processor, but since Intel realizes that everyone knows pentium is cheap, they just added the name i3 to this even though it isn't really an i3 processor.
The Dell and Hp laptops have the exact same specs, but the HP one is only available in the Staples store (besides for having to find a Staples store that has it is stock and then getting hounded by the employees to buy the extended warranty, software, and an extra kidney) while the dell one is available online.

The dell one is, $10 more, but you can sign up for Dell emails and they will email you a unique code for 10% and I have verified that it works on this laptop. The Dell one final cost will be $333.

Only advantage the Target one has is that you can return for free, Dell will charge you a restocking fee.

For those interested in getting this laptop, you would be better off getting the dell one - see the original post below which I have linked for details.

The language from the Dell page is very vague. Here is what it says:

Re-stocking Fees:
For returns initiated within the time period specified in this policy, Dell will provide return shipping labels at no cost to you and not charge a re-stocking fee if:

- the product you are returning is defective.
- you have to return a product because Dell made an error.
- you are a consumer who purchased for personal use.

Are they saying all 3 of those have to happen, or only 1?

I have seen numerous comments from people who have been charged restocking fees by Dell. In fact, on reddit someone posted 20 hours ago and said they were charged a restocking fee.

Issues with the hinges on the Dell.
I am giving it as a gift, so that makes it a no-go.

"Way superior" this indicates you know nothing about intel chip. 12th regular i3 has 2 p cores but only 4 e cores. This guy has 8 e cores. The perforce of 2 e cores is almost the same as 1 p core. True p core can offer better performance but it consumes more power with more heat as well. But who the hell will buy $250 laptop for gaming or 4K editing? All 8 e cores offer the same performance at a lower power consumption with lower heat. "Way superior" is just totally wrong and opposite……

It's similar in performance in benchmarking slightly inferior but similar

It is not my opinion that the i3-1215 is better...it is the opinion of almost every review site out there. I have linked them all below. In fact, nanoreview even compared it to the 11th generation i3 and rated the 11th i3 better than the N305. Again, these are not my opinions but the opinion of all the review sites. So why would anyone pay more for this one when you can get the Dell one with a better processor for less money.

Whether it is "way superior" or not is subjective, I agree with you on that.

nanoreview score: i3-1215U = 50 i3-N305 = 38

versus.com score: i3-1215U = 65 i3-N305 = 52

cpubenchmark score: i3 - 1215U = 11045 i3-N305 = 10089

nanoreview score: i3-1115G4 = 41 i3-N305 = 38
