Amazon is $1 less than wyze.com with prime payment, but OG seems stop recording if internet down. Their programmers are so dumb.

Prob cost less to manufacture and maybe less build quality, they do feel of less quality but (I have around 8 setup) they do load 3x faster in app, have an LED light, slightly louder mini siren and the mic/speaker 2way audio is better than V3.

Only cons is not having cam lite as all new cams from now on but thier $89 per year unlimited cam plus plan for 99 cams is worth it IMO

can you live view with your smartphone as well as playback on it? Let me know before I pull the trigger. I used to buy Sricams similar to this type, but they gone down the sewer.

PS. Is this 2.4ghz & 5 compatible or just 2.4?

Yes to live view. Can playback if you're using sd card or subscribe to their plan. If you don't subscribe to their plan, motion detection is not the best as it has cool-down (believe 5 mins) time. Only 2.4g.

I use the OGs for supplementing angles on my older v3s w/ lite. IE I have a v3 covering most of my driveway, but have a OG covering to the side of my driveway. I leave the notifications off on the OG and just go to playback based on alerts from my v3 covering my driveway.

Got great footage of people buying my neighbors junk truck and proceeding to hurt themselves trying to remove it from the yard.

I have a OG running on microsd record in my garage with alert off. let's me check if I need to see if garage is closed.

The GitHub/wiki shows the compatible devices but I don't remember if the OG was listed


It's basically a series of linux programs compiled to run on the CPU in the camera and it adds things like real rtsp streaming and higher quality video

The ac adapter that comes with this is not weatherproof, so you have to buy an enclosure for it or buy the special adapter Wyze sells. I would have linked it here but I can't find it on Amazon or on the Wyze site.
