Bought it in June of 2021. This is what the order says:

Order Summary
Item(s) Subtotal: $29.95
Shipping & Handling: $0.00
Lightning Deal: -$10.56
Prime Savings: -$10.00
Total before tax: $9.39
Estimated tax to be collected: $0.56
Grand Total: $9.95

I do not know what the "Prime Savings" was. Another discount or did I use cash back from the Prime credit card? Not sure.

Good price on a good maintenance charger.
Your not going to charge a dead battery with this but that car or generator that sits a long time will fire fight up.

Do you mean you were successful on jumpstarting? TIA

No, it has force mode that will start charging when the voltage is too low to be recognized by most chargers. Keep in mind it takes a long time.

No. This is a slow trickle charger and if your battery's too low to start the car, it'll need to charge up for a good while before trying to start (like 6+ hours, assuming the battery's not beyond redemption)

No - this is to maintain with low amperage.

What's the deal with the "onboard chargers".
Are they are just multi chargers?
Are they called onboard purely because they are waterproof or is there some other reason?
Onboard because you can leave the battery in the vehicle with this attached. You don't need to take out the battery although sometimes it's convenient to keep it near an outlet.

I'm trying to get one of these to top up a car whose battery dies after sitting in the garage for a week or so (and won't start). Which amperage would be the right one? Thanks!

No quick connector is a deal-breaker for me, though adding one would be a simple matter.

This is a little cheaper, twice the output rating, has both quick connect and clamps, and a little better customer reviews. Less modes though, because it doesn't advertise desulfate, or force charge mode. I've got one I keep LiFePO4 batteries in the motorcycle and car topped up.

Noco chargers seem to get such great reviews, but I'm pretty sure my Noco5 destroyed both my car battery and my motorcycle battery. Been using a Ctek instead and have not had any issues.

I love this as a maintainer. Bought it in 2020 for about $20. Use it on my mower. Just leave it plugged in and connect it to terminals when done mowing. Like that it also has the ability to force charge a battery that my 'smart' battery charger won't charge. If I had any need for another (I don't), I'd buy another at this price. You do need to select the correct type of battery though by pushing the mode button.

Alot of "things" have the quick connect in a easy to get place for a maintainer.

Makes charging on motorcycles much easier.

Generally, the battery is under the seat and the terminals aren't convenient to get to, nor is the space usually big enough for clamps. So if you have a quick connector permanently fixed to the bike's battery terminals and run the wiring through the gaps of the bike, you can just plug in the battery charger via the quick connector without taking off the seat, putting clamps on the terminals, etc.

Edit: it's the same reason I'll pass on this deal even though the price and brand is compelling. Not only do they not have quick connectors, they charge an absurd price for the quick connector adapter that can be used with their proprietary connector ($20 list price on Amazon).
