Bose SoundLink Mini II - Very old (Bluetooth 3.0), not water resistant, can be used as speakerphone
Bose SoundLink Flex - Not the latest but fairly new (Bluetooth 4.2), waterproof & dust proof with IP67 rating, can be used as speakerphone
Bose SoundLink Flex SE (sold in Costco and Sams) - Flex without microphone so cannot be used as speakerphone.
If speakerphone is important, go with Flex that retails for 119 everywhere. If mic is not needed, then Costco at 99 now. If you like vintage Mini II
The Flex and the Mini sound very different though. Flex is tuned to be a bass-heavy party speaker, while Mini has more of Bose's classic house sound. Makes a huge difference. I bought and returned the Flex
I've had the Soundlink Mini II since it's release in 2015. I scored it for $99 from a sketchy store manager and to date, it still works every single day as my bathroom speaker. I also throw it in my suitcase whenever I'm staying at an AirBnB or on a cruise.
I do need to charge it about every 3 days but it still always turns on! Best money I've spent.
Glad to see this one is USB C

Thanks! I was looking for this go on sale! Its an amazing speaker. Only downside is that the battery last only like 4 years or so but its a lot better speaker than the newer models and this is usb c finally (unlike some of the newer bose portable speakers which sound worse)

While I much prefer the look and feel of the mini, its biggest disadvantage to me is that it doesn't support the party mode (in which you can pair two of them in stereo). Something to consider as these are all small speakers with little stereo separation with just one of them.

Yeah. While I listen to plenty music that benefits from a good thump, the Mini is still the nicer sounding of the two to my ears. Also returned my Flex, as much as I was hoping to like it.
