Can anyone recommend a hard protective case for this Chromebook's exterior clamshell? (not a sleeve or carrying case)
I haven't been able to find one on Amazon.

How is the screen resolution downgrade after having experienced the Acer 516 GE?
I assume you've put your ear to it everywhere to check for capacitor whining (or whatever afflicted both our 516's?

Wasn't that hard, just had to remove the battery to disable the write protection to run the lines. The only thing is the audio drivers you have to pay 10 dollars but they're not really stable. It causes random crashes sometimes and it's totally random but happens after hours, sometimes days later. The laptop itself is great and runs perfect when it's running on windows 11. I hope someone releases new drivers or something.

I really wish it had not arrived with both the Bluetooth and Wifi malfunctioned. The display was really better than portable device I use on a daily basis.
Pros:
1) Bright big 16:10 screen
2) A bit mushy but very comfortable and quiet keyboard to type on
3) Bright RGB for keyboard
4) Silky smooth refresh rate for day to day use as well as gaming
5) Lightweight for its size (read con 2)
Cons:
1) I have yet to see a Chromebook (Acer Spin 714 is a solid exception) that does trackpad well. Just, bad. For gaming, I would imagine that you would be using a controller exclusively, so this shouldn't matter to you. For day to day use, a mouse is an almost must have.
2) Speakers are atrocious because good speakers need good magnets which means the laptop will need to gain some weight. Loud? Yes. Quality wise - way below average. Headphones are a must if you are listening to anything other than say, news.
Great computer for schoolwork if you don't need too many native software and if your work can be done within a browser. To get a 120Hz screen for under $300 including taxes is a steal if you are okay with ChromeOS which has come a long way.
P.S. when will computer manufacturers stop using stickers on the body of the laptop?
