But in these slim and light small 14" laptops, with limited cooling, hardly the CPU can run at those kind of higher power and most cases they are maxed out to 35W-45W and the performance gap noarrows down due to that.

I just recently got an elitebook 845 G8 with a ryzen 5 5650u pro and I thought that was impressive but this takes the cake. But I also paid 250$ for that laptop though. And it's Passmark score is 15,000
Can't wait for this one to show up on the used marked in a couple years 🤭
I just learned that amd is basically no longer supporting Vega graphics drivers anymore, just basic drivers moving forward. They are focusing on RDNA. The problem is lots of their APU desktop and laptop current gen stuff is based on Vega still. Very few of their laptops have RDNA yet

There's some situations where a laptop like this would make a decent mobile video editing workstation that could get a few things done and not run out video memory because it could easily have upto 12GB of extra video ram compared to other budget gaming laptops with 4-6 only

I have a g5 version of this (2700u, 32GB) and it's been rock solid for over 5+ years minus a battery replacement. The NBD on-site 3 year is also only a $60 add-on for this which is worth it.
Before "how to get sub $900" is asked I ordered the 16 incher for $1152.87 aftter 15% discount, $3 rewards welcome bonus and NY tax. I will receive $115.26 in CB, $11.53 in CC rewards and $150 SC through Amex. Net price $875.82. If you have the Amex offer, all this is reproducible. I will also get 1152 in HP rewards, which I believer are worth ~$33 towards a purchase.
