Not worth the money in my opinion. 7840HS is no doubt powerful, but because it can run at higher power, not for any architecture or core advantages. Now inside a big gaming laptop, that becomes a major factor because those can run the CPU at way higher TDP, near to 80W, for longer durtaion and on those scenarios, 7840HS can be significantly faster than a 7840U.

But in these slim and light small 14" laptops, with limited cooling, hardly the CPU can run at those kind of higher power and most cases they are maxed out to 35W-45W and the performance gap noarrows down due to that.

There is a night and day difference between the < $500 crap HP consumer laptops and the business-level HPE laptops. They're literally made by different companies.

Does anyone actually have good experience with these? I got a DOA HP laptop once upon a time, and have avoided the brand since.

Integrated AMD graphics for $1000? Who is this catering to? If you want no video card, the offerings in the $450-$800 range are where you should be hanging out.
These computer illetarate people have to comment on every thread, like they actually know things.

Just curious as to why this 14" made the front page deals and the same laptop in 16" didn't? Unless I'm missing something, they are the same laptop except for the screen size?

Half the RAM which is actually soldered so can't upgrade if you ever need to. Worse screen. Plus people complain about electrical noise from the latest P14/P14s lenovos. It's a good deal if you have to have lenovo, but HP is a better machine.

You're referring to this one?

https://slickdeals.net/f/17097304-hp-elitebook-865-g10-wolf-pro-security-edition-16-fhd-ips-ryzen-7-pro-7840u-64gb-ddr5-1tb-gen4-ssd-thunderbolt-4-win11p-3-yrs-warranty-1019-15-f-s-1015-15

Specs are slightly different, not just the screen size. I'm not knowledgeable enough to know why this one was more popular.

The p14 was 939$ last month. It was 32g ram though. I think it has better specs than this right?
