No discrete graphics but the integrated on this cpu is actually quite decent (for a Windows laptop).
I understand this is a business laptop but wish there was an option for higher resolution display - that would make it a bargain competitor to the likes of MacBook pros.

This is very much a business laptop. The screen is great for for most business uses. It's not ideal for photographic or video work, or for gaming. I have the G9 version of this and it makes for a great workstation for software development.

I thought I had heard that business laptops are much better built than personal laptops. If all I do is email, websites, occasional very basic Excel and watch some streaming video, how would I choose from all the different options? My current is a Thinkpad E570 from like 7 or 8 years ago.

Just about any laptop on the market will do that. I guess you would want to consider size, weight, battery life, general quality, and price. This laptop would likely be overkill for your needs.

What would be a good use of this laptop? Lots of RAM. Stock graphics.
