I really wish I had waited to buy the first two expansions. Such a dope deal. Even the deluxe edition is a good price.

Is it worth it to get the living world stuff for $50 or should I stick to the $20 one?

It depends. The Living World seasons are basically DLC that continue the story and take place between each expansion. Each season includes new story instances, maps to explore, and new masteries (ability unlocks than can broaden your capabilities such as the Roller Beetle mount). Because of the way the game is structured, you'll still find other players on most of the maps and some of the Living World maps have great farming spots. If you don't care about the story they're technically skippable, though as I mentioned there's a few gameplay features that are somewhat worthwhile.

For $50, which is less than the cost of most games these days, I'd highly recommend it. There's no subscription, it's literally hundreds to thousands of hours of entertainment. It still has a healthy, welcoming community and due to the horizontal progression system almost all of the content is worth doing. For anyone on the fence the base game is free (Includes all launch content, LW Season 1, max level cap) with a few restrictions to prevent spamming/botting. And you can always purchase the $20 standard edition, then buy the LW seasons later or grind out the gold to buy them with gems. But this is literally the cheapest the game has ever been for almost all the content, it's just missing the Secrets of the Obscure expac from earlier this year so if the game looks appealing to you then definitely pick it up.
