With these giftcards: If you buy a ticket, and then need to change your ticket, does the amount paid easily go back to your Southwest account as a credit for another ticket? Does it act just like as if you paid cash for the original ticket?

(I realize they won't credit money back to the credit card used to purchase the original ticket; just want to make sure it's no more difficult to change a Southwest ticket bought with a gift card, compared to a credit card. Want to purchase for someone whose Southwest flights end up being changed quite frequently.)

It stays as credit for a booking if you cancel. Next time you book you will need to use the original booking confirmation number to use it, it's attached to the original booking.

Yes, just goes back on your Southwest account as a flight credit, and they no longer expire.
