You can get Apache cases from Harbor Freight for a fraction of the cost, and offer basically the same functionality.

I believe that one major benefit for pelican is that they are made in the USA

It's basically Quality and guaranteed performance when you're transporting or carrying things worth thousands of dollars. And/or security if you're carrying items that need to be locked vs other cases where you just twist the lock and the plastic cracks off. I agree they are pricey but sometimes necessary. .

I just found this one and ordered it also, and returned to the forum to share my finding only to see you beat me to it. 👍

This is almost exactly what I was looking for in a hard case configuration. And agreed, much better deal than the original deal but it's only available for a limited time as a B&H Deal Zone deal.

I ended up getting a rifle case and 2 pistol cases and they feel like I can toss them off my 40 foot roof and what's in them will be fine.
