They system actually knows how many are in stock and limits the amount of orders for in store pickup. What could actually happen is that someone goes to the store and beats your order pickup proxy employee. During a normal day, employees get to the store 1 or 2 hours before the store opens and starts processing the pickup orders, so usually by ordering online you should be safe that the proxy employee would get to it before any customer. However, today being black Friday they open stores earlier, not to mention that there might not be enough employees to do pickup orders since the little employees that come in to work are very likely assigned to deal with the upcoming madness of customers. Add to that the fact that due to it being black Friday the amount of order pickups coming through to process is double or triple the usual, ie it will take longer for the proxy employee to get to your order. And to add more to the matter if the consoles are in the floor, the proxy employee has to get the keys from the electronics guy to open the cabinet were the consoles are usually behind off to get yours and since they know that they tend to process all the orders first and get to the electronics behind lock last not to mention that the electronics guy might be swamped with customers asking about the 70in TV for $50.

In other words, you might get a cancelation email due to actual customers walking in and buying the consoles more likely than from the system allowing to over sell online the console.

It actually wasn't that hard to get. I added the PS5 to cart then I added the offer. When 2am hit, I refreshed, and boom checked out.
