I use this in the arcade machine I built. It's honestly incredible and well worth the money.

No. This is a frontend--you link in your existing games from launchers like Steam, Epic, Ubisoft, EA, etc.

This essentially compiles all of your games from different launchers and platforms in one place, with a nice looking interface. If you've ever used Plex or something similar, a good way to think of this is Plex for games.
Sorry, I meant for that to say does it interface with things like steam and epic, as I could only see people talking about retro uses. It seems a lot like armoury crate by Asus for the ROG Ally

LaunchBox has integrations to automatically bring in games from the following launchers: Amazon Games, EA, Epic Games, GOG, Steam, Ubisoft Connect, Windows, and Xbox / Microsoft Store.

There's also an option to manually add games by specifying the program's file path. So to answer your question, you should be able to bring in basically any game you can think of, regardless of the launcher or platform.

You can also use BigBox as a frontend with Sunshine/Moonlight (both free) to stream games from your computer to your phone, tablet, media streaming device, etc. using the guide here [youtube.com].

Can I put this on multiple computers.

Like, could I install Launchbox on all of the machines in my home arcade (each one has a Windows PC inside it) with this one license or do I have to have a license for each PC?

You can reuse the license on multiple machines. its an .XML file placed in the root directory of Launch Box
I have several computers that all use it.

What's the main benefit of the Premium, over the free version? I have the free version and the free version seems fine...

You are downloading a frontend - LaunchBox. It is free. It takes all those free emulators you downloaded for all the systems and creates a single "launch" point for all of them with a nice frontend and customizable theme/layout. There are many frontends out there to choose from that do similar things as LB. Everyone has a preference. That's what's great about life, you have choices. So yes you can just download NESticle and run that and play Metroid by clicking in NESticle and choosing the ROM. Then launch SNES9x and load the rom for Metroid in that emulator. Then load Project64 and load the rom and run it from there. OR, load all your emulators and ROMs into LaunchBox or another frontend program and then launch the one frontend and select your system and game you want to play at that moment.

The deal here is for upgrading the free LaunchBox to BigBox which adds features and supports the developers to continue adding new features and plugins to make your gaming rig even better. Nothing additional to load/install with BigBox. The features are in LaunchBox, but activated when you put in your paid license key for BigBox. Every Black Friday and only Black Friday the developer runs this special for up to 50% off the BigBox license, whether it be annual or lifetime, windows or android versions. You could purchase the annual for the discounted cost of $15 today to have all the features enabled. Then if you like it and continue to use it in your gaming rig, next year on BF buy the upgrade for the lifetime license for $30. Your total will still be $45 for the lifetime ($15 for one year then $30 next year to go lifetime).
Great post, but they did finally offer this deal on a day other then black Friday. I got it a few months ago for this price which they did advertise as only time they offered it when it wasn't BF.

I've been on SlickDeals for years and I don't think I've seen a more ill-informed and idiotic comment here.

I want to add that VioletTent657's comment is also idiotic and ill-informed.

The lifetime license gives you a license file that grants you lifetime access to premium features. It's not like Amazon Prime or a streaming service--you pay for the lifetime license, and you have the premium app forever, whether you log into your account or not.

I've used this on my arcade machine for years and it's a brilliant piece of software. Since I own the license file, I can also use this on any number of other devices I own-- I recently started building a "retro PC" that I also use this frontend on, to emulate a retro computer with a directory of old games and software I can easily access from the fronted.

Ask Jack0vAllTrades and ViolentTent657 if they actually own the software license and are making informed opinions on it--chances are they aren't. Honestly, I'm shocked they wasted their time clicking on this Deal and commenting on it.

If you need a feature-rich frontend that is highly customizable, you might consider this. I wouldn't accept opinions from those who don't even own it, personally.

Thank you. Yes, they had their 10th Anniversary and did this sale on that special occasion.

I switched from EmulationStatuon DE to Launchbox. Advantages of LB include an excellent scraper with EmuMovies integration, advanced metadata editor with bulk wizards, and a very feature complete platform/ emulator management system. It also has neat features like displaying ports and similar games to a title, 3d Boxart generation, PDF manual scraping/linking, and a lot of features you would want for an arcade cabinet-esque setup in big box mode
Thanks for the response. Since I've already scraped my entire library and don't have a need for the other things you mentioned, I guess this isn't for me. Sounds great for people doing an even more polished build or a cabinet-style setup though.

In my experience Playnite runs lighter and does everything I could ever want, for free.

Plus the addon that lets me auto drop any of my games into Sunshine/Moonlight. Ay yi yi.
