This is just a regular knife. Just keep cheap knife sharp and it will be same as this "PRO"

Boooo you're not fun
And no I don't think that will work, you'd need at least a few sharpening tools and the skill to keep it sharp. Just buy this and save the headache.

Mac mighty is a pretty trusty knife. I like mine even if all I ever use is my Takamura now

Accurate. This knife just stays sharp with little effort. I have this chef's knife (but not the paring) and all I ever do is three quick passes on a ceramic hohner before and after I use it…stays razor sharp all the time. I'd buy it again and I'm tempted to, just so my wife and I can stop arguing who gets this and who has to use the Chicago cutlery.

Haha the Chicago cutlery comment made me laugh. We have this block set we got from Amazon for Chicago and I am planning to either give this two price set or the 6 piece set on woot for wusthof. The other set just feels complete than just giving two without bread knife. What's your opinion?

Honestly? 2 piece is more than enough for most. Most people aren't slicing roasts enough to want the slicer. It'll just get dusty

My opinion is to get this two-set and keep whatever knives you'll still want from the Chicago cutlery set. For me, it'd be at least the bread knife and other paring knives (it's handy to have others, for when other people join you in the kitchen). Maybe the steak knives, too. My Chicago set is nearly 20 years old, so likely a little higher quality than what they're hocking these days. Doesn't stay sharp as long as the Mac knife, but it's decent. They're sharp. I just have to work a little harder to keep them that way (still the same…three passes on a ceramic honer before and after I use them).

Not bad but I'd like to see the chefs knife around $80 or less. Also laughed at "dimples" til I saw that's on the manufacturer page, marketing to cooking normies.
