In 2020, 2021, and 2022 Citi offered 15% off some gift cards on Black Friday and 20% off the same selection on Cyber Monday.
I can confirm this. I save up my Thankyou points to redeem for a bunch of gift cards (most Apple/iTunes) on Cyber Monday when they're 20% off. That's the best value you can get from Thankyou reward points.
I have bought few hundred bucks of Apple gift card over the years. But Apple gadgets never go on sale at Apple.com. Every time I want to buy Apple there's always a better deal at Amazon or target or somewhere else. I don't have subscription through Apple either. Anyone have a slick suggestion on what I can do with the balance there? Thanks!!

Apparently they do price matching. No personal experience as I buy used.

Apple Gift cards are best used for two things:
1. Upper-end products that 'never' go on sale, like the latest gen iPhone. Through various sales and deals, I took about $400 off a new iPhone 15 PM this year (granted, that took *too* much work).
2. Services. If you have iCloud, Apple Fitness+, News, Arcade, etc — you can load up the account and keep a steady 15%-20% off through the months.
