As a ace store manager (not saying what store I am at) 95 percent of the stuff was gradually marked up before this sale to give the customer a false sense of a deal. Most if not all stores do this.

We need a ccc to keep them honest. The online prices look bad, not worth fooling with. I was just talking to my kids last night about % off discounts, they mean nothing. Some places we new had 90% off and I was telling them look at that $10 thing and ask yourself if you would pay $100 for it, or if you would even pay $10 for it. Discount means nothing.

I found a bolt cutter for $29, but menards had the same cutter for $13, so even with -50% it was still $1 more. <eyeroll>

Wow, I bought Stanley tumblers of Woot ages ago, 2for1 clearance, I bought because of the name. They were the worst tumblers ever, uninsulated to the point of chilling coffee in minutes. Leaky too I think, just terrible. Hard to toss a product but they went in the bin after I stored them for a while hoping they would get better.

Takes me back! No Stanley for me tho...

I remember YEARS ago when they'll marked up the 29.99 item to $30.01. I was like, dude wtf. TT mngr and he gave appvd the half off.

I used to waste so much time on this deal looking for an item that was exactly $29.99. But of course, the really good stuff was marked up to $30.99 right before the sale. Use the Amazon Shopping app to scan the item's barcode in store. You'll be surprised at how close to the after-Q price Amazon can get even without the Q. Plus you don't have to drive around wasting time and gas. And don't forget the opportunity cost of SDs you missed because you took your eyeballs off the computer screen.

Not a chance. Regular prices are regular prices, which at ace tend to be high.
Come on people, you really think the stores have employees gradually changing thousands of price tags up and up leading into BF in an elaborate scheme to trick their customers and keep them from getting a good deal? No way. This guy is fishing for thumbs/reps.
