I see a lot of positive reviews on the HD site, but the negative reviews talk about the drill poor torque, holding the bits, burn outs and quit working. I know there's always complaints but any experience out there?
Looks like a killer deal for the two pieces.

I don't have on hand experience with it but this is a small compact drill, most of the time people over work their drill, wrong drill for a wrong job, it happens to every drills.

Are you looking at the correct model number? I think this is the third gen atomic (DCD794) and I feel like most of the stuff I had seen was on the first gen. I haven't looked at this specific yet so... 🤷

Good deal for the average homeowner I'd say. I'm concerned they're underpowered for hardwood given the amount of reviews complaining they can't drive a screw completely through 2x4s. I'm skeptical of the reviews, anyone have experience with these 2 tools in the Atomic line up? I've max XR for my other DeWalt tools but looking for an oscillating tool. I'm more of a buy it for life person for power tools

Cutting things in place, mostly. Trimming a damaged portion of a board so you don't have to remove and replace the entire board. Or shaving a 1/4" off a spot where boards meet. It can cut fasteners like nails or screws between boards etc. it's just handy for lots of little things
