Just ordered. I have the service already in Los Angeles for $40 a month - and it works great! A T-Mobile rep said I could get this deal for $30 a month with the TV. All I have to do is add a new home internet line and once I get the new modem/router then I suspend my old $40 a month home internet line for 90 days, which costs $10 to suspend. Then, after the 90 days, I can cancel my old line. But that locks me into $30 a month for life with this new line of home internet service and I get the TV! Hope that helps others who already have this internet service.

I have tmobile home internet because I can't get fiber/cable where I live. If you live out in the country like me, its amazing sompared to the other options. I regularly get 300mbps down. It also regularly slows down significantly, sometimes under 20mbps, and the tmobile unit regularly crashes and has to be restarted. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone who has access to cable/fiber at their address unless they already have a tmobile cell line and really need that $30 rate over reliable internet. The issue isn't average overall speed, its reliability of both the hardware and speed at a particular time. Also there are weird quirks like it gives me an IP address a thousand miles away.

I have an available home internet line for $25/month if anybody is interested. Speeds are good but the latency not best for gaming as others mentioned
Are you inferring that the account is transferable?

As 15+ years T-Mobile customer, they ask me to pay $55...
Never ever become loyal to any company. Once they know you're their loyal customer, they will stop caring about you. I was loyal to Xfinity and every f'ing year I'd call them and ask for promo, it worked first few years and then after that it was a flat no. As soon as T-Mobile available I switched and called to cancel Xfinity. This time I didn't even say what they would offer me, just said I'm done and want to cancel now. Guess what? They offered me my 300Mbps service for $50 which I was paying $110 for the last four or five years. Imagine that. I still canceled as I hated them for doing that. I did switch back to Xfinity after a year but this time I got new customer promo which was $35 for 200Mbps upload and download with no data cap and Xfinity gateway device. And I plan to switch to T-Mobile after my two year is up with Xfinity.

Placed an order to try it out. Does it get the same speed as if I ran a speed test with my iPhone with t mobile service?
Not as fast as your phone. Home Internet is not prioritized.

Anyway to check what model
You are getting prior to delivery? My order confirmation doesn't have a model number

Looks like I'm getting the black one. Let's hope it works ok
I contacted T-Mobile and had them note in my account to mail the new one.

Darn, my order says I'm getting the black one. But no reference to the device's model number. How do you "make sure" you get the newer model?
Call or text T-Mobile and have it noted on your account that you want white one.

Is this really not available in Brooklyn, NY?
Brooklyn is a highly saturated network.its dependent on how many people in the area rely on 5g as their primary source of high speed Internet; in bklyn most of that is from phones.

If one has a preexisting phone line with Tmo, I don't need to get another line to qualify for this deal, do I?
I just added it for 30. And I'm on simple choice. The device has a number associated with it.

I have t-mobile internet right now and this is my fresh download speeds from fast.net.

260

Mbps
Download.

And speedtest.net results:

DOWNLOAD Mbps
248.42
UPLOAD Mbps
49.38
Ping ms 46 167 391
That's slow compared to Xfinity. Although the price is tempting

I just placed an order but If I receive it after 11/29, I can't get this fire TV promotion?
or is it ok since I ordered it before 11/29 even though I can't activate before 11/29?

I guess I have to do some setting in my own router?
Not if you connect the router directly to the TMO's LAN port. You need to set up WiFi at your own router, our connect your PC directly to the router's LAN ports.
