I remember when sick deals werent sell out shills and actually let people share money saving advice and not ban people for sharing other sites
When was that, November 22, 2023? laugh out loud

Seriously though, no offense friend, but, it's been that way for awhile. I remember when most of the really good deals on this site were "shamelessly stolen" from other deal sites. Now this place has the membership to support itself with its own core groups of deal hunters, both staff and user-based, and building something like that took keeping some of that pie. People gotta eat. SD isn't a megacorp.

Besides the old ways of getting around things still apply

Amazon has the Black/Nickle for $300. Is there a difference between this and that apart from the color?

Yea, you have to actually look at them and compare. One comes with a box and 5 accessories and the other just comes with 1 accessory. The pictures in both sites show you exactly what you are getting.

So put my wallet on the table, pants down, grab my ankles and let Dyson extract $310 plus tax for their hairdryer

I read that this is a decent product, but is it actually any different from newer traditional style hair dryers that have the same exact feature set (fan speed, temperature setting, and attachments)?

Just wondering how the price is justified. From what I can tell, traditional hair dryers work the same.
This hair dryer is differentiated 4 ways:

1) More power than most (but not all) hair dryers

2) Quieter than other hair dryers (but let's be honest, it's not actually quiet)

3) Unique specialized attachments. This is the real differentiator. If you have really long hair, there's an attachment that dries your hair without making it frizz.

4) Terrible ergonomics. You literally can't adjust speed or temp while holding the dryer in the same hand (because temp and speed adjustments are in the head -- not the handle), and you have to press those buttons repeatedly to toggle between speeds and temperatures to find the one you want, which is beyond stupid. Also your hand naturally covers the air intake, which is on the handle of all places, and the air intake has a plastic cover that slips loose and can easily break (they charge you $60 to replace it). It's insanely poor design.

Bottom line:
If you want the power, there are $80 "pro" dryers that deliver the power and are better designed, but louder.
If you have long hair and want the attachments, then this dryer may be worth it.
Anybody else, don't buy into the hype.
