I would just get these unless you can get the HD600 for less than this. I'm not aware of any HD600 sale that can beat this right now. Also the Drop HD6xx still comes with the foam storage case and the HD600 now just comes in a cardboard box.

I used to think I could tell the difference between HD600 and HD650 18 years ago when I had the marble color HD600. But I recently purchased a newer set of non-marbled HD600 and I don't think I can now. Not sure if there was a production change from then to now, but my current production HD600 and HD650 sound the same to me.

That's surprising. I have the 6XX and has auditioned the QC35. The HD 6XX provides way more details. Which genre do you listen to?
Maybe you value noise canceling more than the actual sound quality since the HD 6XXs are open-backed headphones.
Also, do you use an amp with your HD 6XX? Remember, the 6XX is 300Ω.
