Searching for an NVME to USB adapter

Most of the ones on Amazon are the typical Chinese generics with hilarious "brand names", but if you sort by date and critical reviews, many of them say not only did they not work, but they damaged/overheated the drives.
I'd like to find a deal on a real brand name. So far the only actual brand name I can come up with is Vantec, which is relatively expensive, but probably a better choice than "Elutang" or "Anyoyo". I've bought Sabrent in the past, but I don't know if that's a "real" brand or just one of the bigger cheap names like Ugreen. I see Best Buy also has an Insignia one, but it's not any cheaper than the matching Vantec model. My laptop has an M.2 2280 M-Key, but I'd like to get an adapter that can handle as wide a range of form factors as possible.
Also what are my risks of getting a counterfeit Vantec from Amazon? I don't think it should be a problem, or at least not nearly as much as getting a fake Sonicare head.
