What laptop is $1000? Another fantastical comparison?
$500 is a deal for the other specs that are far more important to those of us who don't base our perception of a 3 digit number on the cardboard box. Nits is a completely useless number that is rated differently manufacturer to manufacturer. Buy a Chromebook if that is the only spec that matters to you.
i7, 16gb of ram, backlit keyboard, pretty much the best integrated GPU available? "cOrNeR cUtTiNg"
Tell us you don't know what you are talking about without telling us you don't know what you are talking about.
But post a better deal, your yardstick, one you don't have the time to address but plenty of time to argue

What's the point of upgrading from the realtek to the mediatek networking card? Specs sound similar.
Any thoughts on upgrading the display, are any of the other options noticeably better?
Can the SSD in this be easily replaced? I bought an HP laptop a few years ago, and it seemed like the M.2 SSD was easily replaceable, but it involved more than just removing some screws and snapping apart the chassis, it also involved removing parts that were held together by glue and high strength double sided tape, which seemed rather messy to me when I had to put it back together.
RAM upgradable or soldered
256gb storage
this laptop should be $300 at most.

Costco has one with i5 but 512GB SSD for the same price.

250nits for a $1k laptop is a joke, for $500 is not a deal.
this is probably their corner cutting budget laptop produced exclusively for black friday.
You really can't get a better deal than this.
