This is a great price! I have one of these crosscut sleds and it's super handy. Are there other ways to make crosscuts that don't need a special sled? Sure, but this thing takes all the guesswork out of it and I don't have to worry about my square rotating 1 unnoticed degree which completely ruins my 90. Well worth $10. and a tiny bit of garage space. Thumbs up.

What's a reason to use this over a miter saw? Other then possibly preventing tear out

edit, adding reasons I find:
portable, to make miter cuts elsewhere without moving your miter saw

This thing is amazing because of its good build quality and compactness (about the size of a VCR). I bought one of it for $15 summer-2022; and then a few months ago while perusing Menards endcaps, saw it on clearance for ~$10; so I bought a 2nd one. I do maintenance for several hotels on the weekends so I just leave the 2nd one in the car in case I need to do any miter cuts on the job. It sure beats having to lug around a 40-lb miter saw between different properties and a miter saw literally takes up 1/3 of my trunk space. Much easier to carry this Kreg Crosscut + my tiny 18V Metabo 6.5" circular saw around.

Amazon seem like better deal for those who don't live near menard. Will this allow you to cut small piece that miter saw can't without the kickback?
