there is a new model of the Pflueger President coming out so old ones are going on sale. the reel at $41 is good alone.

Thank you for this! I tried all yesterday to get dicks/ public lands ads to work yesterday at this price and wouldn't work. In for 2. The president is a very well know option for a good beater reel.

This is dead now. I thought about buying, but I'm pretty set on gear. I have three of these combos in various sizes and few other Presidents. They are great for my creek use. I especially have fun with the Light combo for smallies.
