Don't forget Amex spend $999 get $150 statement credit and 10% cashback site.

Can get this down $2,280 with the above mentioned coupon/credit/cashback.

You can buy 16GB more ram after delivery for $100 to bump this up to 32GB (https://shop.kingston.com/collect...4467939520)

For those looking for a fully compatible upgrade to memory, you'll want to get Kingston Beast DDR5 RGB EXPO Desktop Memory 6000MT/s / 32GB / Kit of 2 (KF560C36BBEAK2-64). It runs perfectly using the XMP Profile 1 at 6000mhz.

I tested tons of memory with this computer and this was the most compatible and stable.

with the discount 4080 builds popping up, it's very tempting to feed the urge to buy above my needs! Now, even though I don't want another proprietary build, this really takes it over the top! And...for those comparing...this also is the K - not the KF.

Good form, OP Smilie

I'm still having a hard time justifying the 4090/i9 over the 4080/i7 builds. The cost % increase to performance % increase just doesn't math for me. Do I always want top of the line tech? oh sure. Will I notice it? probably not. (Not saying everyone is the same) Now if you plan on keeping the machine 6+ years, then it might be worth it to go 4090/i9.

I usually keep my main machines for 4-5 years so I went with the 4090. I also missed out on the Legion with the 4090 last month and was kicking myself over it. Coming back to intel after 5 years with an AMD Threadripper should be interesting.

Yeah I bit on this deal (thx for the reminder on the AMEX offer!), hopefully it will fit into my ITX build. Impossible to get a 4090 card right now at a reasonable price.

The i9-13900k is a $500 processor too... should be easy to flip with a freebie HP motherboard.

FYI, According to the cashback site, the Frontline Hero and EPP sites are exclusions to the 10% cashback. The regular site price with 10% cashback would be cheaper ($2520 vs $2430)

Also true, but you could run it through a chase freedom card for 6 points / $ which if you have their upper tier cards is roughly 10% and isn't restricted by the cashback site limitations.

If you can line up the credit card and other cashbacks this is a good deal. If you can't it's 100% not.

Ha, I also have the 1080ti and am looking to upgrade. I just bought this 4080/i7 Dell Alienware [dell.com] yesterday for $1537 after discounts/credits/cashback

$1949 base price
-$292 cashback 15% (it changed to only 10% now)
-$120 off Amex Dell promotion
=$1,537
and I actually had a $200 giftcard from the 38" dell alienware monitor deal a week ago so I got it for $1,337.
