We had one of these and it worked well enough. It would sporadically leak, but that's a problem we have had with many coffeemakers after several years of use. Our main complaint though was that it just didn't make a very good cup of coffee. I'm considering looping back around to it though after our 13-month old Ninja completely stopped functioning. Last one of those I'll ever buy.

Was the coffee not very good from both carafe and single-serve? I'm looking at this too but not sure what to think of it.

It was better from the single serve than the whole pot for some reason, but neither was great. At the time we were coming from an older Cuisinart that made exceptional coffee, so it wasn't that the HB coffee was bad, it just paled in comparison from where we were coming from. The Ninja only made coffee marginally better than the HM at double the cost and a mere 13-month lifespan, so if I had to choose again I would have bought another one of these over the Ninja for sure.

Thanks, appreciate you taking the time to share details 👍
Hamilton Beach is an old school brand from the 1980s. It prefers Folgers, Yuban, and Maxwell House coffee the best for the older age population. Before the Starbucks coffee craze, it was one of these top three brands.
i have this and use it almost every day. i love it, but then, i loved my basic mr. coffee pot also...
i paid 90 for it though.
i should note i saw that it leaks in some reviews, and as such, i do not lift up the water reservoir off its valve, i simply pour a cup of filtered water from the fridge in, before i stick the same cup under the single serve outflow. doing such, i refill it as i go, and i dont get the valve leaking.

Similar to the above, I have this and have used it for about 2 years. I paid around $80 from Costco. I actually have had 0 problems with it and I also fill it up as I go just as this person described. I actually have been looking at fancier ones but after seeing all the issues with some other ones (like having to clean it off or even daily) I'm sticking with this. In the 2 years that I have had this I haven't had to descale or fix it of clean the insides even once - now that I'm typing that out it sounds gross but I'm glad I have had no issues and if you get this, hope you have no issues as well!
We've had this machine, an older model without the water tank, for two years. We paid $80, I think. No issues with it. Coffee from carafe and single serve is perfectly fine. The carafe is used heavily and the single serve is used a few times a week. Just keep it clean... it's quite the powerhouse.

I think the problem with the large pot maker on this is it dumps the water way too fast. It makes an entire pot in a min or two with a steady flow the entire time resulting in coffee flavored water. I don't think the water had enough time in the grounds. Great if you're in a rush each morning but not great for taste. Going back to my old Mr Coffee and will keep looking for an upgrade. The old Mr Coffee takes 10 minutes to make a pot but it drips it down slow and the result is a pot you can't see through it's so black.

I'm debating on whether to return it because of that.
