HP has the following HP OMEN 40L w/ customized config for $900.30 by using a combination of several offers. $900.30 price requires the following config:
  • AMD Ryzen™ 5 7600 RGB Air Cooler (up to 5.1 GHz max boost clock, 32 MB L3 cache, 6 cores, 12 threads)
  • NVIDIA® GeForce RTX™ 4070 (12 GB GDDR6X dedicated)
  • Kingston FURY 8 GB DDR5-5200 MHz XMP RGB Heatsink RAM (1 x 8 GB)
  • 512 GB WD Black PCIe® Gen4 TLC M.2 SSD
  • Front Bezel Black Glass with 600 W 80 Plus Gold certified ATX power supply
  • Realtek RTL8852BE Wi-Fi 6 (2x2) and Bluetooth®️ 5.3 combo

Price should come to $1299.99 with this config.

Required offers:
  • 10% off w/ coupon code 10BFCM23, price is now $1169.99
  • Before checking out, register for a new HP.com account to receive $3 off (100 pts), price is now $1166.99
  • Amex offer $150 statement credit on $999+ spend at HP, price is now $1016.99

I chose not to add more memory because it's cheaper elsewhere, such as:
https://shop.kingston.com/products/beast-expo-rgb-ddr5-desktop-memory?variant=43159731896512 [kingston.com]

You may also consider upgrading the power supply for an additional $50. I decided against it.

Not thumbs down from me. Decent deal, I just don't have a good AMEX card. Curious what one ya'll have so I can get all these targeted deals. Stick Out Tongue

Though maybe do $1017 in the title. Then add "additional CB" in description. Not sure if you can type out what your first comment was though, without getting moderated.
This offer was on my AMEX GOLD card. We are not allowed to discuss cash back in the main deal post unfortunately.

I didn't realize it before, but it looks like this system also comes with a copy of Alan Wake 2 lol

"Get the Alan Wake II with select GeForce RTX™ 40 series.
Buy this PC with NVIDIA® GeForce RTX™ 40 series (4070 or higher) graphics card and get a free copy of Alan Wake II."

HP reduced the intel version of my deal by $50. That system comes with 16GB DDR5 RAM and 800W PSU. If anyone is interested, that deal can be found here:

Thanks for the heads up OP!

I upgraded to the Intel i7 13700 along with the 800 W PS upgrade and after all discounts/cash back, I am at $800. Great price!!

Already have a 1TB SSD to add to the existing 512GB and I may buy16GB more of ram for $65. So $865 for i7 13700, 32GB DDR5 ram, 800 W PS and RTX 4060 graphics.... !!!

As you said plenty of upgrade options in the future too. There are 4 internal bays for SSD/HDD combinations. As well as being able to change out CPU or GPU down the road, if needed.

Very solid gaming computer at current price. CPU isn't a concern.

However, without the AMEX you can probably do better.

Such strange specs. You'd have to know for certain that a crap ton of this is upgradeable long-term to make this work.

A popular cash back site has 10% cash back on HP, which will bring the price to $900.30.

10% cash back is calculated on 1166.99 = 116.69.

After AMEX statement credit you pay 1016.99.

$1016.99 - 116.69 = $900.30
Which site? I looked on the one whose name starts with a rodent and ends with a ten,, but didn't see HP. DM is fine if that's more legit for here

What's strange about it? The only thing I will say is odd is the 8Gb memory but that's done on purpose. They don't expect you to buy it with only 8Gb. They expect you to pay another $90 for another 8Gb stick.

I have heard so many of these "Amex offer $150 statement credit" deals throughout the years. I don't have an Amex card but I am willing to get one. Which Amex card to I need to apply for and can I use the card instantly to get a $150 statement credit on this PC? Thanks!

I have the Blue Cash card. You can activate the offer when you login to your account. I believe when I looked earlier the offer was good through mid-January. So plenty of time, not sure what HP will do to the prices between now and then?

If I'm not mistaken, the HP Omen line still has heating issues. While the Ryzen 5 7600 isn't going to be a furnace like an ix-13700 would be, it still runs the risk of causing the GPU to throttle down which a 4070 will do around 80*C (which Omens are known to get to).

I just don't think I'd trust an HP Omen case, so (if it were me) I'd almost be buying this simply to pull the parts out and put it in something with better airflow. Combine that with the RAM and it just seems like a bit of a hassle.

Interesting, I'm not sure that it will be a problem in this spec. I may return it if it suffers from heat issues. But yes, I agree that I wouldn't buy this system with the intent to throw away the case. I really like the case compared to those of the competing sub $1000 systems.

Look up the HP return policy.. They might charge 15% restock fee which is why I didnt order https://www.hp.com/us-en/shop/pdp...#techSpecs for 1079.

Very good looking case. I'm just hesitant on the effectiveness of it. But if it is good to go, then you got yourself a deal with some minor upgrades!

From my brief research, It sounds like this is more of an individual situation and not a widespread issue with 40L units.

I also read that you can access the GPU fan control and adjust the fan settings for your individual needs based on what you are using the computer for.

I did see a couple comments from people really pushing their systems, game wise, that they added a couple additional fans to address the issue.

For my usage, light gaming, I have no concerns for the $800 price.
