Probably the most money I've ever saved on Slickdeals was from buying these water detectors. Was sitting on the couch (naturally) and suddenly heard a bunch of noise coming coming from the bathroom. Notifications on my phone started going off. Went in there found a leak where the plumber didn't properly secure the p trap on our new sink and vanity. That one detector saved me a boatload of money. These things work.

no, the old sensors H5054 are only compatible with the old gateway H5040, and the new sensors H5058 are only compatible with the new gateway H5043 unfortunately. (source: have both sets and tried to combine to a single gateway without any success, so running both concurrently.)

Just an FYI, I highly recommend YoLink water leak sensors. They also integrate with many smart home systems, including Home Assistant (natively). Also have quarter mile range. And no maximum in terms of sensors to base.

I love Govee for LED strips and TV backlights, but for water leak sensors, I am firmly in the YoLink camp.

Have this exact Govee set from Amazon. The base continuously loses connection to the wifi router, making the whole set useless. Govee tech support response: we can't figure it out, take the refund, and keep our junk product. Check the newest ratings on Amazon and see multiple 1* ratings due to this.

I have this system and it alerted me 2 weeks ago to a rubber coupling that developed a leak on my sump pump drain line and was spraying water outside the sump pit. I heard the alarm go off upstairs. It also sends email notifications; I wish it had the capability to call me when it detects a leak but it doesn't.

have had this previous generation for a couple of years now. purchased the first set (hub and 3 sensors) new and additional sensors from ebay. also, have the newest generation hub and sensors. while both work very well and are sensitive, the latest generation works on a different frequency and sensor distance from hub can be greater. sensors have their own alarms and send email alerts thru the hub.

I placed one under my air handler and if a small clump of hair due to my dogs land on the top sensor, it does go off.

After it gave me 3 false alarms I just played a cup over it. App is great and can't beat what you get for the price.

Had one of these start going off when my water heater exploded. Was able to shut off the water to the heater. Getting more for the wifi capabilities. Thanks!

Problem is when you're away from home and not close by when the alarm goes off and a connector blows open under a sink for example. Need something to remotely turn a valve to shut off the water like water cop does

Isn't watercop like $350 compared to $30 for these? The vast majority of time that I have ever had a leak, it started when I was home. Even when we had a connector blow while away, it was leaking for quite some time before hand. These things are great to let you know when leaks start. They also will alert you when you are away from home. For $30, I am quite happy to know I have a water problem that I need to fix. Amazon also has the 5 pack of additional sensors for $30 - you can connect 10 to one hub

That's why it pays to have good neighbors or nearby family that can access your home electronically (via keypad locks) when an alarm goes off and you're not home. I want to look into an electronic watchdog to alert me of any non-smart alarm going off. I still have some non-smart smoke detectors and water alarms I plan on continuing to use. Alexa is dropping, or has dropped, that watchdog feature. I used to own a 3rd party device that did this, but they went belly up (pun intended...get it..."watchdog"). If anyone has any recommendations for an e-watchdog please post!
