Just a warning because that's why I'm returning my copy. This does not come with the standard Blu-ray edition seems more and more companies are not including it. They're just giving you a 4K disc and additional code but what about the special features directors, commentary and stuff like that?

Thanks, been wanting to see this mostly out of curiosity. Saw nothing but rave reviews. I must admit it was pretty entertaining, but it definitely wears its influence on its sleeve -- Maverick still up to his usual "buzz the tower" mischief, same leather jacket and motorcycle from the 80s, Goose's son Rooster strutting into the bar rocking his late dad's Hawaiian shirt and aviator sunglasses down on his nose, sitting down at the piano to play "Great Balls of Fire", diverse cast of ballbreakers with over-the-top witty dialogue, Kenny Loggins "Danger Zone" fighter jet montage, team sports on the beach, unrequited love scene, and so on and so on.
If you liked the original Top Gun at all, you'll probably like this, too. Has a handful of really cool action sequences, and a few surprise ridiculously funny moments. Pacing was great, and I usually struggle to sit through a 2+ hour movie in one sitting. I was really glad to see it break away from being purely a homage to the original in the finale. Despite the flak Tom Cruise gets for his private life, he's still one of Hollywood's all-time greats.

i personally liked this movie more than the original, it was just so entertaining
and agree 100% on Tom Cruise, he makes some great freaking movies especially within the past 10 yrs, my favorite is Edge of Tomorrow and the most recent Mission Impossible is awesome.

But then you should opt for the steelbook edition or simply get the BluRay version.
