Thanks for sharing OP. Unfortunately, for anyone curious about the D+ gift card and using it to renew their annual subscription, this is directly from the D+ site: "Note that neither Disney+ Gift Cards nor Disney Gift Cards can be used toward an annual Disney+ subscription."
I had canceled my sub when the price went to $140 and it just recently ended. I refuse to pay for the ad supported sub. Was hoping this could be used to renew, but oh well…
To any moderators listening: I think you need to edit the original post to let everyone know that Disney+ gift cards can't be used on annual subscriptions. I think it's misleading because intuitively most people would think a company's gift card can be used for all their products, but that's not the case here.
Just as a heads up, if you have access to a student email, you can get hulu student + disney ad versions for $2/mo each. Sign up for hulu student and you can add on disney plus. I feel the same way though, I was about to cancel because of the outrageous rate hike, but for $2/mo I'll keep it for now. The ads aren't crazy like hulu, but I'm sure they will increase in frequency over time.
They have a $1 Hulu and $2 Disney+ offer right now

I just got screwed with this, do you think they'll accept returns?

Unfortunately, I don't think they'll accept returns on gift cards. The item's page has a Return policy that states: This item isn't eligible for return. Read the full policy[samsclub.com]
On that link, search for "Satisfaction Guarantee Terms & Conditions" and scroll down to Section D.2 where it states no returns accepted on gift cards.
I was in a similar situation. After I ordered the gift card, I continued scrolling through this thread and I read all the posts mentioning that the Disney+ gift cards don't work for annual subscriptions. So I immediately went back into my account and cancelled the order after 2 minutes. I received the cancellation email so I think I'm fine. But I have a feeling LOTS of people are going to be in your situation. If you haven't received the gift card yet, go to your account immediately and cancel the order.
So to be clear this can be used on monthly subs to Disney + (or bundles) just not to an annual one?
Discount comes to about the same as an annual over a monthly with the added benefit that you can unsubscribe at will. I'll have to think about it since I kind of want that 20 dollar ad free disney plus/hulu bundle, that should work right?

I would say if you have the amex offer, that is better deal than paying with a gift card. you get $7 per month refund on the disney+ hulu subscription.

The current $1 Hulu and $2 d+ is still cheaper since you pay full tax on the bundle, less the amex $7 it's still more
Anyone knows if the gift card is applied to your Hulu account as a whole or just the same as a credit card and so can pay fees for a different account?
Disney+ with no ads is normally $140/year with the annual plan. The no ad plan is $168/year if you did it monthly. Sams Club deal essentially saves $20, and that takes the monthly plan down to $148/year annually, which is $8 more than the annual plan, but now you have the luxury of starting and stopping the service whenever you want to save money.
So the Sams Club deal is fine for those people that micromanage their subscriptions. But if you bought it by accident thinking it could go toward the annual plan, it was just a $8 mistake.
