These don't sync to what's on screen right? They're just RGB lights you can set.

Correct. You can set the colors, gradients, scenes, effects, and have them respond to audio. But they don't have the camera that you need to mount on top of your TV that syncs them to what's on the screen. I have both and love the sync but hate having a camera mounted on top of my TV, so it's a trade off.

These lights are RGBICWW. The bigger lights are only RGBIC, so they are not a factual upgrade.
