This deal is TWO 2.2lb bags for $22.94 or $5.21/lb and the Costco is $17.99 for ONE 2.2lb bag or $8.18/lb.

I agree. Super Crema is not that good of a coffee IMO, I also like this one better but I only use it for drip, I roast my own stuff for my espresso machine

I've going through all their flavors with a super auto and being a dark roast black drinker, all Lavazza's coffees are a light medium roast at best. Even super creme, even Gran Crema Barista. There is a reason why after shipping bags across the Atlantic the beans are still so inexpensive. Super Crema in a milk drink isn't bad
Yes because only crazy people make espresso with dark roast. "French roast" is pretty much a Starbucks invention to equalize the taste of crappy beans by burning them. It makes gross coffee that is only drinkable if you put a lot of cream and flavor syrup in it…
And if you put it in an espresso machine it makes something that will make any Italian laugh. And puke.

If you are an espresso fan, I would recommend you to at least once try buying freshly roasted beans from a local coffee shop, yeah they will be more expensive than regular beans, but in my opinion the taste is WAY better than buying coffee beans packed, stored and then sold in a super market or Amazon. As a rule of thumb, beans are best 15 days after roasted.

From Amazon reviews: "The coffee was roasted on 2/2023 today date is 10/8/2023 the coffee is 8 month old" so they are dumping old coffee
Thanks, saved me from buying a set.

These are my favorite everyday beans but eight months is ridiculous.

When I buy them from another vendor they are usually only a few weeks old at worst.

Which is why there is a market for this stuff.

I am not a caffeine snob, but I can tell the difference between espresso made with this stuff and espresso made with Super Crema. To me, it makes sense to pay a few bucks more for a bag of coffee that's gonna take me 2 months to use. For anyone who drinks some form of drip or pour-over coffee, I don't think it matters as much (they all taste crap to me).

I can't tell you how many new bags of coffee I have had to give away after opening them up and seeing how oily the beans are. So many medium roasts come out oily.

After watching this dude I have been very hesitant to use beans with any visible oil:

What I want is a good variety of low-cost no-oil beans, honestly it's been a struggle!

Any roast can be used for espresso. all in what you like. If you like it than go for it. It is your palate.

Starbucks didn't invent "French Roast". It is believed to have originated in France during the 19th century when coffee roasting was popular there. The French were known for their dark roast. French roast was popularized in the 1960s.

in for 1 - seems like a pretty good price (I typically buy coffee at Costco which is a deal @ 3lb bags for ~$15). I've never tried this brand/flavor so I'll give it a shot and if I don't like it I simply won't order again.

Reading these comments is painful. These are 100% arabica, high quality beans. Some of you really are clueless about coffee but you are yanks so not surprised.
