I'm not sure what kind of extravagance you're talking about but the only way I pay this much for that amount of food was if I was on death row and I had to pay for my own last meal

For people whom never tried Japanese wagyu, don't waste money on this. Highest grade you should try is A4 and also depends on which prefecture the beef came from. This A5 will be too fatty, just imagine bite into a block of fat.

Actually, the richest people are most often the cheapest.

My local costco occasionally has american Wagyu on sale, 2 pieces of ribeye for around $60. tried it and it was very good. I usually dont buy steaks at costco because they are tasteless, even their prime and lower grades have been mechanically tenderized, which is less sanitary. I find steaks at Sams and safeway better tasting than costco's steaks.
Thanks, how are BJ's steaks?

Dont know. I buy steaks from Sams. Tbone choice mainly. Pretty good, a little tough. Prime is more tender but they dont have a lot of choice in the cuts.

Lol, my first thought was to do a dinner party with like 15 friends where we all split the cost

Interesting, I'll have to try sams club meat. I figured it would be junk compared to costco. Figured costco puts a little more effort in quality than Sam's club.
But if you're worried about mechanically tenderizing the meat use a sous vide. It will make meat safe while keeping it on the rare side. Then pat it dry and high heat sear it for a minute or two. It's the way I mostly cook my steaks. Sometimes bbq them.

Not true. The reason I have saved so much money is because I still coupon cut and am always looking for a good deal.
