I don't think Costco people would tenderize steaks mechanically (simply add more labor cost). They usually cut their steaks fresh in bulk from vacuum-sealed whole pieces (usually gone within 1-2 days) while retail stores keep their steaks out on ice for much longer. Therefore Costco steaks appear to be tender and wet. As steak dries and protein/fat starts to degrade, the beefy flavor becomes more pronounced, like aging. I feel you probably will like ribeye cap a lot.

From what I recall, they do mechanically tenderize most of their steaks, unlikely for this though. I believe you can see it on the label as "Blade Tenderized".

It's really not that crazy. Comes out to $70/pound which is about what you'd pay for a 16oz USDA prime ribeye at Ruths Chris.

This is pretty much the only time I buy it.. when I see it's on sale. We usually order with a group of friends and it comes within a day or two and then we cut it, weigh it, and everyone pays their part. $70.83/lbs for this is a great price.

A5 Waygu is more like for a WOW appetizer and conversational piece - portion 3 oz per serving as it tastes mostly like buttery beef fat with some muscle in between. Its too rich for a steak size of 8-12oz, that is unless you find yourself the one who just like eating beef fat.

A5 ribeye yes.. throw them in for an extra richness conversation with a pasteurized egg yolk dip, washed down with a cab or red blend.
But for a5 you can totally go for a leaner cut that you wouldn't usually go for in the lower grades and you could easily eat more without feeling overwhelmed by the richness of the buttery fat.

There wasn't a single piece of beef steak at my local Costoc that didn't have the "blade tenderized" text on its label, even the American Wagyu steaks had it.
