update: ebay sent the case to their appeals dept, and they reviewed the messages between me and Acer refurb, they overturned it and refunded me the amount. Thank goodness. Be careful "Gabriel from Acer" seems very scammy.

And you get a 2 year warranty just in case. The more I think about it, the more I'd say this is a worthwhile buy, especially since its coming from Acer themselves.
