OP, you might wanna add it
I can say that the newest version of the 6qt at Costco that is $300 right now has a new interior motor design, so that may be a little harder to find replacement parts for right now. That said, it is from Costco and made by KA, so you can either return or go straight to the manufacturer for resolution. With Instant brands you will be offered a new machine if within warranty or a discount on a new machine if outside warranty. There will be no fix it kit available.
The KV25G0X series of 5qt KA mixers had tended to go on sale for as low as $200 in years past, but their prices are currently high. We used that one for many many years but moved to the new Costco 6qt for the larger bowl size and quieter motor. You can keep an eye out for a deal on those if you're wanting something new and cheaper. A possibly better option would be to buy someone's used KA off facebook marketplace. People replace perfectly good things all the time with slight upgrades (see myself) and sell them at a discount. I just sold our old 5qt model for $110. It had all the original stuff, looked good, and I even added a rubberized beater since the new one already came with one.
I'll add that the electronic control interface on the Instant brand mixer is very unappealing to me. A mechanical slider like those found on most other mixers, including the KA, will be far more responsive and user friendly.
In general, I like instant brand items. I have had their 6qt IP-DUO-60 pot and now have the 8-qt pro version (previously had their EVO 8qt, which failed and they replaced) and I have their Ace plus blender, which does very well for us. If I ever break the glass carafe it came with, though, I'll need to get a new blender.
